Extrasolar planets

So extrasolar planets are a big thing now. Funny thing was, not only was there a time they were not, but it was taboo to even look for them. Taboo? In science? The two satellites from the NRO may have the same size mirrors, but have a much shorter focal length. So they have a lot of interesting potential uses, but they aren't a replacement for Hubble sadly.

Arcturax, I just have to say that I really admire your perspectives. As with most of your posts, this one is well written and thoroughly thought provoking. It's probably in your archives already, but I'm curious - what's your take on SETI?

Oh, and... In the short term, at least, there will be no replacement for Hubble.

Well there will be James Webb, 2018 was the latest. Hubble should last till then or close to. And I know those need work. SETI? Well maybe i'll make a full post on that.
