Battlestar

So I slept over a friend's house yesterday, and I watched Dr. Who and the new season premiere of Battlestar Galactica. I liked it better than what I saw of Stargate (or whatever it was Christina brought over sometime last year). I really liked the way they stuck our dominant Western world and culture into the same position the Middle East is in now, and I liked their use of Middle-Eastern music. The whole political setup is very realistic, I think. I also felt bad for Gaius Baltar; I could see myself being like him in his situation. I hope I wouldn't, but I could see it happening. I think I got a pretty good handle of what was going on just by that one episode, but I'm not entirely sure what's going on with that girl and the creepy Cylon guy in some random house somewhere. I have the impression she's some human leader who the Cylons want to break psychologically, but I'd have to Wikipedia it to get a better idea (or I could complain and wait for Christina to tell me ^_^). Also, I still don't see how there can be a half-Cylon, if Cylons are robotic and don't reproduce the way people do.

I've also watched the first two episodes of Heroes. I actually stole the pilot because my dad deleted the one I had on the PVR. I looked for it on iTunes and on the website, but they only had the more recent one. If I paid $15 for a service I didn't want, I could have downloaded it legally, but I really didn't want to. Had they offered the pilot for $1.99 on iTunes or on their website, I would have bought it even though I aquired it legally and lost it. But they didn't, so I'm a pirate now. Arr.
Anyways, it's about on the edge of my horror tolerance level, but it's very good. I highly recommend it. I really like the way everyone is interconnected, the reoccuring themes (i.e. cockroaches), and the various subtle themes that they throw in there that are subtle enough to be noticable, but vague enough that you feel special for finding them and want to hold onto them and find a billion different ways they could connect. And I love Hiro. He's my new best friend.
