2011 Half Marathon Done!
Walked the Kotzebue Mosquito Half-Marathon on Saturday...which was actually 14 miles and not 13. They lied! Was my version of the Fandom "5K". 3 hours and 20 minutes and second place in the walking division. I knocked 10 minutes off my time last year which was cool. Especially since I tweeked my back and sprained my wrist on a 5-day kayak trip a couple weeks ago. It was a beautiful day with rain showers surrounding the route but sunny above. Got back in time to work 4 more hours for the visiting veterinarian. I worked the morning then took a 3 1/2 hour break;) I kept stretching in between patients. Sore today and hopefully not too bad tomorrow when I go back to my paying job. No major ouches or blisters so I'm happy.
Great day of everyone encouraging each other on and a shout out to a fellow Red Sox fan who gave me a big high five as I was passing him. I hope he doesn't begrudge me passing him when I go through security at the airport on Thursday...he's TSA;)
