Day 1, Friday - June 17th:
Lenny paid for my entrance fee for the AnimeNEXT convention as my early birthday present. First we went to the dealer room for a search for the Mokona Modoki doll from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. Finally after the hunt (and finding it), we went around the dealers. Forge got a T-shirt and a nigga-killing dagger. Lenny got a T-shirt also and the Final Fantasy VII Cloud on Motorcycle statue (over $150). Anything, we didn't make it for the Karaoke contest, so we went to the gameroom to check out the competition. People, of course, were playing Smash Bros. Melee, Street Fighter 3, the new Naruto game for GameCube, Tekken 5, Soul Calibur 2, and 2 actual DDR machines. Later that night we picked up Anthony from the airport (yep he's back), then dropped him off at NJIT for some All-You-Can-Eat buffet. Then we went back to the convention to watch the Anime Music Videos contest so we can vote tomorrow. Most of them were fuckin' amazing. We didn't make it for the hentai (big-eyes!) showing, but I'm sure it was another Cool Devices (hopefully it was Nightmare Campus though). Anyway, I'm tired though I'm gonna watch Yakitate Japan before I fall asleep. Update for Day 2 tomorrow. I might have to miss my Tito Joey's farewell though.
If anyone is willing, there's going to be a Smash Bros. Melee tournament tomorrow at the convention (probably 40-50 people). Also to Daniel: a Street Fighter 3 tournament by controller or arcade joypad. And for Chris: COLUMNS! ..nah they canceled it because their Genesis went afk.
