Basically because it's considered to be tacky. Though personally, I consider it a sign that we all have too much to do to be bothered :-p

Weeell, there's a more biblical reason than that too, but yours works too.

Ryoma and christmas lights...well, I'll either manage something to such an effect for Valentines day, or this plot bunny won't see the light of day again until next christmas.

Well, yes, there is (and the sisters at college never let us forget it :-p), but our household only really decorates for socitial/cultural reasons, seeing as none of us are good Christians :-p Parents are agnostic, and as for me, well...*points at username* :) But, where, I live, you decorate just for the sheer joy of filling your yard with as much stuff ad you can...I think. At least, no one that I know who decorates is really religious *shrugs*

I hear that one :) Well, as pretty of an image it would make for Valentine's Day, don't force yourself or anything...though I know you could do a good job with it :)

Ahhh
We also don't decorate for the occasion merely the presents
Family of atheist children, jewish father and christian mother.
No actually sees our front yard (except the kangaroos) so we don't normally bother with extravagant decorations.

I really really want to be more motivated. I've got so many plot bunnies eating at my brain...but I also want to READ fanfics too

Stupid non divisible body.

...and Valentine's is barely a week away too.
