(Newsletter crossposted from my myspace)

Hey folks,

Once again, thanks for reading the stories and for the amount of love that's been shown for me and Michael. He may be fictional, but he certainly appreciates it as much as I do! Here's the latest news...

Mudo publication in the Santa Clara Review
The very first Michael-story, Mudo, has been published in the Santa Clara Review and is now available for purchase. Please, if you can, support my work by purchasing a copy.

About the Santa Clara Review:
Founded in 1869, Santa Clara Review has throughout its duration represented Santa Clara University's commitment to the humanities, a tenant of Jesuit education. Because the Review shares in Santa Clara University's commitment to the humanities, the Review will accept only the highest quality material for publication, material which echoes Santa Clara University's dedication to the pursuit of truth, honesty, and social responsibility within the literary arts.

California People in short story contest
California People is up for a 100 dollar prize at the Life for Change short story contest website. The top voted story will be the winner - and so far, Michael's is in the lead!

If you like the story and you've got the time, please give it a vote.

Johari/Nohari windows
Oh, how I've given in to the latest internet craze...

If you've read some or all of the stories, please take a few moments to visit Michael's Johari and Nohari windows. It's a short interactive thing - you just pick five or six words out of a list of adjectives that you think best describe Michael.

Johari is for positive traits; Nohari is for negative ones.

Three new stories posted
Posted up three new Michael-stories in the blog - Animatronic Navidad, Coffee, and Keys and Locks.

Animatronic Navidad is a bit of a departure, told in the third person perspective. Though I think it came out well enough, I missed Michael's internal monologue enough that I likely won't be doing it again.

FAQ
There's a couple of questions I keep getting asked - I figured I'll address them one at a time in these little updates.

Q: Is there a particular order in which to read the stories?

A: Well, the short answer is... not really. There's no particular order in which to read them - they're pretty non-chronological.

The longer answer:
Mudo is the one that explains the most - that's a pretty big chunk of the Michael-story right there. But because they're Michael's reflections on things, they're very much like real memories - kind of disjointed, randomly occurring, sometimes even slightly contradictory to each other. I think it's hard to pick a particular starting point, at least right now. When the entire series is finished, I'll have to impose an order on them since I plan on putting them together in book form. But it'll be mostly artificial - just there for the sake of books not having randomly moving pages and all that. Flipping around from story to story and reading whatever strikes your fancy first would work just as well. Confused yet? Just read, it'll draw you in.

Thanks for reading!
