Called Arch. Last night was miserable. He was able to keep his Foley out, but in trying to void to prove he can go without the foley, he made himself throw up. He told me he wasn't feeling well, and curled up to go back to sleep.
Sometime later that night, he still feels nauseous, even with IV medications. His nurses tell him to fix that, he needs to stand up and walk around. As soon as he's on his feet, he throws up.
They clean him up, he takes his walk.
A few hours again, he walks again, throws up again.
So he sits down in a chair, to recoup before going back to bed. He feel asleep sitting upright in a chair, and when he woke up, it looked like Niagara Falls down his right side. The stoma wound leaked. (had my facts wrong)
This poor bird..... But he's putting one foot in front of the other, taking his walks, until his body behaves.
They're not too concerned about the fluid leak, that's common with stomas. Probably WHY he's on 2 IVs; it keeps his fluids up in case this happened. Still, they want him on soft solids (cuttable with a fork: think bananas, cooked veggies and fruits, jellos. Not beef jerky and broccoli) before he can leave.
He purred though, when I told him his friends like Tenaya and Crowe and C. Eagle all are rooting for him, and I'm have some job interviews coming up soon. He asked me to let him sleep, he's been so tired after that surgery, so I told him to place his wing over his head, and hold us close in his dreams.

Cuddles are still very welcomed from friends!
