To make a long story short, it appears that the seal between the metal filler pipe and the tank has gone bad, far less serious then I originally anticipated. Long as I don't overfill the tank again it should be fine. Worst case: I take it back, have them drain the tank and replace the seal. Not cheap -- about $120 or so -- but not horrible

I think we should have a contest. The car that makes it to the end of the year with the least amount of repairs wins.
Tell your Pug it's winning and by no means needs to catch up. I'll tell my Kermie the same, on the grounds that it's highly unlikely they'll go online and compare notes.
Who knows? It might work. ^_-

Getting a new car would free me from the expensive repairs for a while, but brings with it a host of new costs. It will be a very near thing when I graduate.
(The "Pug" part was because of a low speed rear end collision. It punched the front bumper in on one side, thus, Pug. :)
