Supernatural 5.14
Way, way, way too much fun for one episode. Cupid was adorable - so adorable - and now I'm waiting for fic where he gets his revenge on Dean. In a sweet and adorable way, of course. ♥
So many visceral moments, a lot of which walked perfectly on that line between gore and horror. It was grotesque to watch the couple eat each other, or to watch that guy stick his hands in the hot oil, but it was truly horrifying to think about what was driving them to do it.
Famine was frightening. The actor had an amazing presence. Was so proud of Sam to admit what was going on with his cravings. Even if Famine was one step ahead of him, it was still awesome that he spoke up. Cas blaming Jimmy for the red meat thing was so funny! (Was I seeing things, or was the hamburger he was eating in the suitcase they thought had the drunken doctor's soul?)
Jensen and Misha's comedic timing remains ridiculously spot on.
Why so squeamish about showing Sam drinking demon blood from a male body? Clearly, he did do just that. It's almost amusing - someone better zip up, 'cause their homophobia's showing a little. *g*
All in all, this is by far my favorite episode so far this season. Great balance of the funny, a good amount of actual scary, and myth arc. Anyone else wonder if Dean's praying at the end is a teaser for resolving the finding God storyline?
ETA: Oh, and did anyone else think Pulp Fiction when they opened the briefcase?
