Last year I made the following resolutions:
Get a job in accounting or finance - Mostly failed
Read 50 books - Succeeded! (still need to do the post for the last few)
Take the keyboard out of the box and actually play it - Failed
Begin to take the CPA exam - Failed
Build a gaming table, and begin to populate it with terrain - Succeeded
2.5/5, not so great. I attempted to find a new job, and was unsuccessful, and I just never got around to the other two. I ended up somewhat distracted by our new puppy.
For 2010 I hereby resolve to:
Get a paying job in accounting or finance
Read 50 books, of which at least half must be classics
Enroll in a Masters of Accounting program
Build at least 3 things with Hirst Arts bricks for my gaming table
We went out to 3 movies over our Christmas vacation.
Avatar - Ok, so it's pretty much Fern Gully with better animation. However the animation is what really makes it worth it. I am very glad we saw it in 3D, and I think this is the first time I've wanted the DVD only for the special features. This is really a movie that would be totally wasted on the small screen.
Up In The Air - Much more of a Euro/Indy movie than I expected it to be. Good, but don't expect a happy ending.
Sherlock Holmes - I find myself constantly impressed with Robert Downey Jr. I picked up the Complete Sherlock Holmes and am several stories into it because I enjoyed the movie so much. I also thought that I'd be annoyed by Jude Law, and wasn't, and Rachel McAdams was a lot of fun to watch.
