I finally ended up going back to finish my shopping today. It turned out that one of the varieties of necktie available was quite reasonable-pretty much solid black, just a bit textured. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any fitting rooms at "Super" Target. Seems to me it would be rather odd if I were to just throw my coat, the tie I was wearing, and my other prospective purchases on the floor so I could try it on. Further, the tie was intricately wrapped around some sort of hanger (not a hangar), so I wouldn't have any idea how to put it back afterward. I actually considered buying it, then returning it (in its disassembled state) if it didn't work out, but I couldn't count on being able to get my money back, and I certainly didn't feel like asking a complete stranger how this stuff works. Why can't people be logical and print the size on the label or something?
Looking on the dark side, I did manage to buy the right candy on my way out this time.
