  • Even if they meet the age and gender criteria, I don't really think super-high-tech extraterrestrial weapons and robots are enough to qualify as "Mahou Shoujo."
  • I happened to stumble upon a fansub of LAST ORDER FINAL FANTASY. VII (the OVA included with the DVD of ADVENT CHILDREN) and of course watched it. It's a retelling of the flashback in Niblheim, intercutting with a new scene five years later (which I suppose is just before the story in the game). I don't remember very well, but it seems like a couple of key events have changed. Interestingly, there are also about twice as many The Turks as in the game, yet they don't actually do anything. Ms. Irina (Elena) isn't even in the end credits (which are incidentally all in English) for some reason. Improvement over the Game: Ms. Lockhart's physique has been reduced to a point where it can be explained by physics as we know it. Disimprovement from the Game: Zeng's haircut
  • Translations of the Day:
    「キツネ目」 → “Neko-Eye”
Please don’t call me by my first name!”*
If You Don't Let Go”
She is, after all, an English teacher!”
They’ve done an utmost thing.”
*In case you were wondering, the best I can tell, her first name is Kaori, but everyone except her mother (including teachers) calls her "Kaorin." She is one of the characters who isn't important enough to have two names (as opposed to Ms. Sakaki and Ms. Kagura, who just don't).
