Today, I wore a red shirt. One of my old job coach's complaints was that my attire was too formal and not gaudy enough. So I acquired a few red shirts (two from the Payless Supermarket job, and one from the store) for interviews and the like.
It was not until today, three years later, that it occurred to me that putting on a red shirt and going on a mission might not be a recipe for success. Of course, these statistics come from the Enterprise's mission in the 23rd century CE. Despite the much longer mission, few seem to care that its successor of the 24th century boasted the commanders wearing the red.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, red markings indicated security battle droids (specialized ones with more complex programming than standard B1s, which I don't quite understand when they were all controlled by a single processor) and clone captains.
