"Count Days" © Raven 2006
[YC]: Tell him your love story and gleefully wonder at his smile
Just watch his eyes trained over your shoulder
[JS]: Is your success imagined when he tells you you're stupid?
Are you deaf when I show you the truth?
[All]: All days I'm here behind you.
Just what you need.
Some days I'm here to hold you
And you always see him as me
One day 'friends' will mean 'loves'
So I'll sit, count and wait.
[CM]: He is the dawning red world, always in your eyes
But you are only his cute, little mouse in his trophy case
[YH]: You stand behind him: changing your face (your ways)
Behind you is me, asking you to stay the same.
[All]: All days I'm here behind you.
Just what you need.
Some days I'm here to hold you
And you always see him as me
One day 'friends' will mean 'loves'
So I'll sit, count and wait.
[JJ]: His arm under your fingers, do you really feel his love beat?
Your heart in his grasp, does he even care?
[JJ&JS]: Don't tell me one day he'll see you
[YH, YC & CM]: (One day you'll love me)
[All]: All days I'm here behind you.
Just what you need.
Some days I'm here to hold you
And you always see him as me
One day 'friends' will mean 'loves'
So I'll sit, count and wait for you.

"So this is what you guys do all day when I'm not here?" My arms were wrapped around my knees and my bare feet were on the couch while I watched SungEun, TaeYoon and SaeHee play a variation Jenga.
"Pretty much." TaeYoon placed his piece vertical and perpendicular to top row.
"I still think that's cheating. That is not how you play Jenga." Saehee pushed her frizzy hair back over her shoulder. Since she always wore it up, I never noticed how long it was.
"Think of it as Korean Jenga, then. The American way is too easy." SungEun gently tapped around the base of the structure. Once again, his hair was in all directions, but now there was a bright red streak in the front. As soon as Mr. Park had left the day before, SungEun decided to celebrate by getting his hair bleached and then dyeing it red himself.
I was supposed to be reviewing the list of "names" and finding out which ones I wanted, but my little siblings were making too much noise out here in the living room. I had then abandoned Scott in the workroom, it was more of an office, since all it had were two computers and three desks. He was typing a book to his parents back home.
"I'll have you know that my best friend was Korean and we never played Jenga this way." SaeHee shoved SungEun away from the tower after his balanced his piece parallel to TaeYoon. She pushed her hair back again and pushed against the middle of the tower, just under the twisted pieces. I'd always played Jenga this way and couldn't really imagine leaving the pieces in neat little rows at the top. That wasn't nearly as difficult. There was no skill involved. SaeHee laid her piece between the other two and flush against the previous row.
"We still haven't decided on stakes. So try not to knock the tower down, just yet," TaeYoon said when SungEun danced around the tower, waving his hands. He snatched up the list of names from where I'm dropped it on the couch and scanned it. "How about this: Whoever makes the tower fall, has to take the name… Stone."
"Stone is lame. Think of something else." SaeHee pulled out a hair tie and separated her hair into two sections to braid.
SungEun skipped across the carpet and plopped onto the arm of the couch before putting an arm around my shoulders. "How about the loser has to kiss Noona?"
I blushed and shoved him away from me. "What? No! I do not agree to that!"
He toppled onto the floor and SaeHee and TaeYoon dove to protect the tower from the shock waves. He rubbed his bottom and grinned. "Oh that's right, you belong to YooChun Sshi now. Though, since he's dating you, I guess that would make him Hyung…"
"I don't know what you're talking about." I hid my face behind my knees, but I could still hear SaeHee's giggle.
"JunSu Sshi called to make sure you weren't on the war path." I peeked over my knees to see his smirk and then unfolded my legs to get up. "Hey wait, don't kill the messenger." He dashed across to his bedroom and slammed the door shut in my face.
"SungEun, I'm going to kill you!" I hit the door once, dead center, and let the sound echo, before putting my back against the door and sliding to the ground. The second he opened the door…
"What's going on?" Scott stepped out of the workroom and rubbed his hands.
"SungEun's teasing Unni about YooChun Sshi." SaeHee tied off the left braid and started on her right side.
"Do you want to play?" TaeYoon waved in the general direction of the tower.
Scott shuffled across the room and picked the names list off of the floor. "Not really, some other time, maybe." He took my spot on the couch.
TaeYoon fished for another piece and SaeHee finished with her hair, throwing both braids over her shoulder. "Why don't you just call your parents, it's not like you're not staying up late."
"My parents are both deaf."
SaeHee's jaw dropped and I could only blink. TaeYoon glanced at the two of us.
"His parents are deaf," I said.
TaeYoon dropped his piece on the tower, which fell with a crash. One of the pieces smashed into the wall next to me and the others scattered around the floor. I fell backwards when SungEun opened his door. "Nice going, Stone."
I contemplated killing him, but since he broke the awkward silence… He could live.
"Hey, we never agreed to that!"
"Sorry, Stone, but it was your idea, after all. It's only fair." SaeHee flipped her braids around and smiled at Scott.
TaeYoon just sighed and started picking up the pieces. Scott scanned the list of names and SungEun hopped over me and sauntered into the kitchen. "Does you guys want a drink?"
I stood up and patted the seat of my work out shorts. "Water." I plopped onto the couch, watching SaeHee and TaeYoon rebuild the tower, this time with…gaps already in it. SungEun handed me a short, clear glass and sat between Scott and me, before propping his feet up on the coffee table.
"How does Lock sound?" Scott passed the list to SungEun and I looked over his shoulder at it.
"Hmmm, the connotations, uh, the meaning, is interesting because it can be taken a few different ways. I was thinking about Ring, myself," SaeHee said.
"Chain."
"Cross."
SungEun caught my eye and we both laughed.
"I guess we're all decided then!"
"So much for 'two weeks.'"

"Oh! Noona, Noona! Buy this!" SungEun shoved a silver cross cell phone charm under my nose. It had four seed beads, two white and two black, and a thin black lanyard to attach it to my phone.
"That's cheesy, Chain. I don't get enough money to waste it on something so corny." I hung it back on the peg and continued to browse the glass shelves below. I needed a new notebook-
"Come on, Noona, we really think you should buy it." TaeYoon pulled it back off the peg and handed it to me. I spun around to give him and SungEun and piece of my mind, but was faced with all four of them.
"Fine, fine, but I am not paying for lunch, no way! I still have to buy the ingredients for all of the waffles I have to make tomorrow." I snatched the top notebook, it was blue with shiny purple stars, and went to the cashier before they could make me buy something else. I don't know why, but for some reason, the smile on SungEun's face made me worry. He was just a little too happy about me buying the stupid charm.
"We get some, too, don't we?" Scott stood up to the counter after me, buying a pencil board and three green pens.
"Of course, you four get all of the burned ones and the experiments." I dug to the bottom of my plastic bag, it was purple, and pulled out the charm. I ripped off the price sticker and fiddled with it until the lanyard was straight.
"You're so mean, Cross Unni. Let us have some regular ones, too." SaeHee held my bag for me while I pulled out my phone and tried to remove Mashi Maro without ripping his ear off or something.
"If I have extra preserves, then you can have some, but I promised to feed five hungry boys and I don't have a lot of money." I pulled the lanyard tight and then put my cell back in my pocket. "How about this: if you help me carry the food up to their apartment, I'll make you each one good waffle."
"Sounds like a plan to me." SungEun grinned like the Cheshire Cat and I raised my eyebrow at him. He was definitely up to something and I still needed to kill him for answering my phone when JunSu called me. I don't care if I was in the shower, it was my phone! And I didn't want him talking to TVXQ, he had too big of a mouth to be speaking with any of them before I decided how I felt about… Everything.
I had thought three days would be long enough for me to make up my mind about YooChun, but apparently my body had had more than enough makeup during the filming.
