Conformists unite!
When are people going to realize that you are not unique or creative just because you do something that is considered to be part of the "alternative culture." I think people act creative just because they think its really great to hear them say "I am creative." I am in a major that has creativity all over, and its easy to see when someone is faking. I am by no means bursting with creativity, im actually quite the opposite. But i dont go out there and pretend that i have something i do not just because my profession applauds it. Ok thats my complaint for the day.
I had a crit yesterday of my senior thesis project so far. The professors couldnt make up their mind, at first one of them said i should scrap my idea and build an open space area (he was a landscape architect so yeah). I wanted to tell him that there is no design whatsoever in slapping grass and some plants down, but i think it would have made him mad. Then after that they all agreed that my project was pretty good and what i had planned was to be applauded and they thanked me for taking on such an ambitious project and asked if they could come to my crit at the end of the quarter to see what i had done. Hmm so yeah it went alright, even though they were very abrasive and i left feeling like they tore my project apart, which they didnt. Last night was my friends birthday, and i took her to the beach. Its been so cold and rainy but now the weather is beautiful and warm! It was warm and the moon was bright and we sat on this rock and watched the water come up to the rock we were on. It looked like we were on our own little island in the ocean, it was awesome. We drank vodka and smoked and then came home haha. But yeah all in all a really nice relaxing night. Good end to the day.
