And it got me to thinking. I've always placed much higher value on content than layout when it comes to shrines. But these days it seems like content is made of wordy essays and images you can find on a gazillion other websites. I fill my shrines with lots and lots of fanworks (and trust me, it's harder to seek out permission from fickle fanfiction authors than it is to write essays). When you visit a shrine, what kind of content do you hope for? I personally look for fanfics, icons, and things of that nature. A few essays here and there are nice, but I don't like the idea of that being the main attraction. :/
