My old keyboard recently broke. Which sucked, I really liked that keyboard, it was one of those old style keyboards that had that satisfying clacking sound when you pressed the keys, and I'd drawn all over it and stuff. Everyone said it looked ugly, which only made me like it more, it was my keyboard.
Unfortunately, the cable started breaking and the keyboard would stop working randomly until, one day, I couldn't get it working again. So I went down to IT warehouse and bought me a new one. I basically just bought it coz it was the cheapest one there that didn't have keys moved. I hate any keyboard where the insert, delete, home, etc. buttons have been moved. I think moving keys around is the stupidest idea ever. People learn to touch type, and expect their buttons to be in the same place, it's like going over to a blind guy's house and moving all the furniture around.
So, I got this keyboard home and actually tried it out and it sucked. So I ended up breaking it and buying a new one from Skytech Computers on Prospect Road. They're nearby and not a bad computer shop, I should have gone to them first. They're really friendly and actually take the time to get to know the people that go in there. So much so that they actually noticed that I'd lost weight since the last time they saw me. They freely offer advice and are really honest and knowledgable. At first I kind of found it unnerving, having store people take such an interest in me, especially when I usually only went in there to buy cd's to make illegal copies of things. But it's come in handy occasionally when buying things, they can tell you how it will work with the rest of your system etc.
I ended up buying a logitech keyboard and mouse for $25. It's absolutely fantastic, everything is in its right place and the keys all push really easily and make a nice noise (although not that classic clacking sound I love). It also doesn't have any extra buttons (web browser short cuts, volume control, play/pause), which I regard as a good thing, all in all, because they rarely work or are usefull. Anyway, I wanted to write something with my great new keyboard so I wrote this and in doing so noticed how gratuitously I use the word "anyway" when trying to segue from one topic to the next. So you'll notice I deleted all but two.
