It was a quiet afternoon in the suburbs located at the west part of Tokyo. The sun was a gleaming red, shining upon the townspeople who were busy minding about their own business. Spring time was approaching, and the cherry blossoms were starting to peek out from the almost melting snow perched on the branches of the sakura tree.
Kamenashi Kazuya smiled in satisfaction as he walked along the road, his new camera in hand; ready to capture whatever beauty he might see, although he may as well just take a photo of himself. Kazuya had the kind of beauty that only came once every four centuries, the last one noted to have a beautiful face such as his was the famed Morii Ranmaru, whom he was often compared to. Possessing that kind of beauty had led him to experience catastrophic circumstances, unfortunately.
“KAME-CHAN~~!!!!”
Kazuya’s head whipped at the sound of a shrill voice. He looked around and heard bushes rustling, and without warning, out emerged three girls, each with dazed looks on their faces, their eyes fixated upon him, who was holding his camera, dumbfounded.
“Uh-oh,” Kazuya muttered, and he suddenly quickened his pace until he finally realized that he was sprinting for his life. He could hear the sound of heels clacking against the pavement, which meant that the girls were chasing after him.
It wasn’t that he was anti-social. He just did not like getting too much attention. Well, who would if men and women alike stalked you on a daily basis?
“PLEASE, JUST SIGN THIS UCHIWA, KAME-CHAN!!!”
“I am not a fucking idol!” Kazuya hollered at them. And he wasn’t. He was just a normal person, trying to make ends meet by doing some photography, because he would rather capture beauty than be the one whose beauty was being captured. He lived in a modest apartment, although he didn’t have a permanent address because of his overwhelming amount of stalkers.
“KAME-CHAAAAN!!!” He heard the voices drown out, as he swiftly turned to a corner of the street while the stalkers ran ahead.
“ARGHHH!” he screamed in frustration as a huge black motorcycle almost collided and hit him.

Akanishi Jin was running away, well, more like driving away. He was being hunted down by some men who were planning to take revenge on the man he beat up so badly that he ended up suffering irreversible injuries. Jin smirked, not feeling guilty about what he did that night. The man was a crook, and was hitting on someone. He just had to do something.
Jin drove his motorcycle faster. He didn’t know where he was going, but he figured the men would get tired of looking for him if he just kept on driving and driving at the pace that he was in. He looked back to see if they were still chasing him, like they were in some kind of live action comedy dorama. He grinned triumphantly. They weren’t. He was about to do a mental victory dance when he heard someone scream and cuss, and gasped when he almost hit a person.
The said person fell on his knees. Jin quickly jumped down from his motorcycle and ran toward him.
“I am so sorry, I wasn’t being careful,” Jin kept apologizing. The person did not look up.“Are you bleeding?”
No response. Jin started to panic. Was he unconscious? But I don’t remember hitting anyone!!! He ran his hands on the person’s face, arms and legs to check if he was bleeding. As he was about to touch the person’s face for a second time, a pair of hands suddenly gripped his arms in a staggering manner.
“What do you think you’re doing?” a low, raspy voice demanded to know.
“Oh, so you’re conscious after all,” Jin breathed out a sigh of relief. So, this person was a he, judging by his voice. “I was just checking if you were bleeding…that’s…”
The boy suddenly looked up at him, confusedly, and Jin found himself looking at the most beautiful face he has ever seen in his whole life. Expressive brown orbs peered back at his dark brown ones, coupled with pink, pouty lips and perfectly shaped eyebrows. Jin blinked to see if this was just a mirage, but it wasn’t. It wasn’t a dream. He really was beautiful.
The boy seemed to look just as shocked to see him. He looked as if he knew Jin, but couldn’t place how he knew the man. “It’s…you…”
Jin nodded slowly, not once taking his eyes off the beautiful sight before him. “Are you all right?”
The body bit his bottom lip and nodded. “I just lost my balance, that’s all. And you really should look where you’re going.”
“I feel really guilty about what happened, so at least let me take you to a hospital.”
“I’m fine,” the boy insisted, then stood up by himself. He was ready to go. “Thank you for your concern. Drive safely.” As he was about to leave, Jin suddenly grabbed his arm. “WAIT.”
“What do you think you’re doing?” the boy answered, trying to free himself from Jin’s grip. Jin didn’t answer; he fished out a gold business card from the pocket of his black motorcycle jacket and handed it to the beautiful boy. “If any sort of trauma happens to you, by all means, contact me.”
The boy scoffed. “Are you for real? You’re making a big deal out of nothing, sir.”
“It’s Akanishi, not sir. Akanishi Jin.”
“Well, I’ll be sure to remember that....Akanishi.” The boy bowed and took off.
“I swear to God, I just met the most beautiful person in the entire universe yesterday afternoon,” Jin said, after taking a long sip from his can of beer.
His best friend, Yamapi, raised an eyebrow. “Oh, really? So, how did you meet this beautiful creature?”
Jin sighed dreamily. “I was running away from some men, and I almost hit him with my motorcycle. I went down, asked him if he was bleeding, and then he looked up, and I suddenly felt as if the angels were singing, as I was gazing at him.”
“Wow, she sounds like an angel brought here on earth to save you from your evil ways,” Yamapi cackled sarcastically, as he took a swig of beer. Then, after what his best friend just said started sinking into him, he almost spit it out. “WAIT, DID YOU JUST SAY HE?”
“What? You know I swing both ways,” Jin winked. “Although I’ve never tried doing it with a man before, I think. Ryo tells me it’s heaven.”
“And since when did you start believing everything that little midget tells you?” Yamapi retorted.
“You’re just jealous because I have a beautiful boy and you don’t,” Jin said, sticking his tongue out at Yamapi.
Yamapi rolled his eyes as the doorbell rang. “Hey, idiot, there’s someone at the door for you,” he said.
“I wonder who it could be,” Jin said. “I didn’t expect anyone this afternoon.”
“It’s probably Ryo-chan,” Yamapi guessed. “You know how he likes to randomly pop into people’s houses.”
“Wait, isn’t that you who likes randomly popping into people's houses?” Jin laughed, as the doorbell rang for the third time. Whoever was pressing it sure was impatient.
“I’M COMING,” Jin said witheringly, opening the door. There wasn’t anyone in sight. Jin poked his head outside and looked around. He sighed and closed the door.
“Who was it?” Yamapi called out from the couch. Jin shrugged. “Probably just some kids playing a prank. Hey, want to watch a movie or something? I’ve got new DVDs.”
As Jin was about to pick out The Hurt Locker from his collection, the doorbell rang again. “I’m not going to get that,” Jin announced.
“OPEN UP, IDIOT, IT’S ME.”
“RYO?” Both Jin and Yamapi said at the same time.
Jin raced to the door and opened it, seeing a very disgruntled-looking Ryo.
“Oh, finally you acknowledged the fact that someone was waiting for five, full minutes standing in front of your door and almost stepping on a carrier with a baby in it,” Ryo said sarcastically.
“What are you ta----“ Jin started to say, but was rendered speechless when Ryo gestured down to the object in front of him. A white baby carrier, with a baby looking up at him and gurgling.
“Demon-infant!!!” Jin screamed and pulled Ryo inside his house, slamming the door behind him. He quickly ran toward Pi. “Yamapi, there’s a demon infant in front of my house. MY house!” He hid behind Ryo.
“What?” Yamapi said. “Jin, are you sure you’re not drunk? There is no way that a demon-infant, much less an infant, could be outside of your house….”
WAHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Yamapi, Ryo and Jin all looked at each other fearfully.
“Oh, nonsense, it’s probably a harmless creature. He didn’t harm me while I was waiting for you for five minutes,” Ryo said. “He was just looking up at me. He even smiled. He’s kind of cute, Jin.”
“That’s what they would like you to think,” Jin said. “And then you would suddenly get drawn to them, and then when you carry them, they will turn into their most monstrous form and gobble you up!!”
“Jin, how could you think like that? Aren’t you fond of babies?”
Jin shuddered. “I became wary of babies ever since I watched a horror movie with U-kun about demon-infants.”
WAAAAAHHHH!!!!!
The baby’s wails were getting louder, and Jin was afraid that he might start creating enough ruckus for the neighbors to poke their gossipy noses out the windows and question what was going on.
“All right, fine, but Ryo, you get it,” Jin said. Ryo shrugged, bravely carried the carrier, and plopped it onto the couch. The baby’s cries reduced to sniffles, until he stopped, and looked at the three faces that were peering at him.
“Ryo’s right, Jin,” Yamapi said. “The baby is kind of cute. Hello there, little fella,” he cooed, tickling the baby’s stomach. The baby let out a laugh, showing a toothless grin.
“Aw, he doesn’t even have any teeth yet,” Ryo added. “Although I do wonder why someone left the baby in front of your doorstep, Jin, of all places.”
“Wait, there’s an envelope,” Jin said. “Oh, no. I’ve seen this in doramas. I look like a person who’s kind and gentle enough to take care of a baby, and so that’s why the baby’s mother left the baby in my care.”
“Or, you could be the baby’s father,” Yamapi suggested. Jin laughed. “Now where did you get such a silly idea, Yamapi?”
“From this,” Yamapi handed the letter to Jin, who read it out loud.
Hi, Daddy! ^__^
My name is Akanishi Akemi. I am currently four months old. I hope you take good care of me!
“D-D-DADDY?!” Jin was stunned.
“Guess you don’t really like using protection,” Ryo hooted.
“Who’s the mother, Jin?” Yamapi asked him. “Look at the baby closely. Who do you think it is?”
Jin thought for a moment. “I’m not sure.” He surveyed the baby, whose name was apparently Akemi, closely, and poked his cheeks. Akemi stared at him in wonder and let his little hand wander on his alleged father’s cheek.
Jin tilted his head to the right, not taking his eyes off Akemi. He asked Ryo and Yamapi to do the same. “Does he look Caucasian to you?” he said out loud. Both Yamapi and Ryo shook their heads. Baby Akemi, with his almond-shaped eyes, tuff of black hair, porcelain skin and rosy cheeks, was unmistakably Japanese.
“So, the mother’s Japanese, huh? I don’t remember the last time I was with a Japanese woman,” Jin mused.
“The last time was probably around the time when Akemi was conceived,” Ryo pointed out. Jin shot him a Look. “No, I’m serious!! Wait, what if he isn’t even my child, and some stalker fan of mine just abandoned him and claimed that this little baby was mine?”
“Since when did you start having stalker fans?”
“SINCE ALWAYS,” Jin pouted. Ryo snickered. “Right. In your dreams. Like they would stalk the son of a famed tea ceremony master, who’s incredibly unfit to follow his father’s footsteps.”
“That’s what Reio is for,” Jin rolled his eyes. “ANYWAY, we are getting out of topic. We need to figure out who the mother of this baby is.”
A smell reminiscent of rotten eggs suddenly became evident inside the living room. Ryo and Jin instinctively looked at Yamapi, who always farted without notice.
“Don’t look at me,” Yamapi defended himself. “My fart doesn’t smell like that.” Jin scoffed. “PLEASE.”
“No, I think he’s right, Jin,” Ryo said. “I don’t think it’s Yamapi at all.”
All three heads turned to one direction, where Akemi was seated. His face was red and scrunched up, like he was concentrating. After a few seconds, he exhaled, and started to wail.
“Looks like the baby needs a nappy change,” Yamapi noted, patting Jin on the back. Jin, who didn’t know how to change a baby’s diaper, just stood there helplessly, looking at the wailing baby who was allegedly his son.
“I think you better take care of that before your house starts to sme-“
“ALL RIGHT, ALL RIGHT!” Jin shouted, and carried the stinky baby. “I’ll give him a bath first, while you guys get him diapers. Oh, and some formula.” He wrinkled his nose as he smelled his son. “Akemi, we are definitely looking for your mother tomorrow.”
A/N:
Babies and Akame, two of my most favorite things in the world, lol.
NOTE: The name Akemi, which means "Beauty of Dawn" or "Bright Beauty", can either be a male or female name, although it is most often used as a female name nowadays. It's one of those unisex names, like Alex. :P
Also, a demon infant is derived from Philippine folklore. In Filipino, it's called a tiyanak. The monster takes the form of an abandoned baby and cries. When a person approaches the crying baby, the baby's face changes and the face of a monster takes place, gobbling up the person who approached it. Demon infants are widely believed to have been aborted fetuses, or babies who died before having been baptized. *SHUDDERS*
Do let me know what you think about this new fic. :)
