dream of the amazing race
it started out as a non-TAR related dream.
i was in the back seat of a car (driven by my late father, i think) and we go to the local mall that has been a failure since at least the '90s. instead of the farm store that's at the left end now, it's an '70s old k-mart.
i go in & it becomes an amazing race dream.
according to the clue we have to find someone dressed as courtney love out of a bunch of people. i tell my race partner that i know what she looks like, but still ask the wrong person if they are her once before realizing that there are themed rooms (by years, location of where the singers are from & types of music). i read on the signs that this one room is seattle in the early 2000s & we go there (despite me knowing niverna & CL's band were in the '90s). but we find the person dressed as her, get the next clue & i tell her that i love her work. i whisper to my race partner that i really don't. i see the tear off strip to open the clue has words (or 1 repeating) in black with a red heart in between, but i can't read the word(s).
i open the clue and see that it's like a brochure with an extra flap/page that opens to the left. i can't read anything on it other than the numbers of each section that are in bold (the numbers are in the 20s). my race partner takes off & i realize it's my (IRL) brother & i'm trying to tell him that we need to do something else first. i keep yelling his name as i run after him, but he doesn't hear me & i wonder why. i finally catch up and explain, then he takes off back towards the previous task and i wonder how he can run so fast. meanwhile, my legs feel heavy & my thighs hurt.
i see that i have to run up a wall that has a conveyor belt running down & not up, so you have to fight to move forward. i think that there's no way i can do this, but when i get on the conveyor belt it starts move up. i get to the top, but don't see my brother. i end up at the next task that involves wrapping vines (kind of woody ones) around some kind of elongated pillow form that we need to paint in certain colors. i start the task, but don't see my brother. on a tv mounted overhead nearby i see other contestants doing another task that involved yodeling & i'm glad the tv is muted. the person overseeing my task i ranting about something, but i was trying to fining the thing when i woke up.
