VOY at 20

found this vid of a star trek: voyager 20th reunion (i'm so old) at space city comic con in houston.

and found out some things;

• for st. patrick's day kate mulgrew would give a big party with irish food. and a bottle of whiskey to each of the main cast.
• every male had the hots for 7 of 9
• robert beltran never bothered to learn his lines
• garrett wang thinks that the VOY finale should've been gut the first hour, then at the end "to be continued at a theater near you" would appear on the screen. the rest would be a big screen movie. instead of whatever crappy TNG movie we got around that time.
• the uniforms look nice while standing, but were uncomfortable while sitting as the came up in the crotch area. it was very uncomfortable for the men.
• the whole 7/chakotay thing happened because after the episode where 7 has a holodeck program to practice being human & chakotay is her boyfriend, beltran said something to jerri rayn like: "our characters will never kiss for real. you're boyfriend will never write it, he's too jealous." (brannon braga, writer/producer of VOY was her boyfriend at the time) after getting the script, beltran got a note from braga; "who's jealous?"
• during the last weeks of the show all the actors got a send off with cake & a large group of people being emotional, except for kate mulgrew. they were literally dismantling the set around her. after she was done with her finale scene, someone form the dark said something like; that's a wrap. thanks for seven years kate. there was no cake or a large group to send her off. but then robert picardo appeared & said: "lets go for a drink."

that last part made me so sad. the studio didn't know what to do with a female captain half of the time and at the end she got nothing in the way of acknowledgment for all she put into the show.
