So we all know that i heart netflix and tivo. mainly cause i hate to be strapped to the tv when my shows are on and also because i despise comercials. well i have another reason to love netflix now. i can watch movies at work instantly on my computer! SQUEE! i have to find ways to entertain myself here.
frankly i cant even believe they have a position for this. there are about 1-2 visitors a day that need parking stamps (the account execs they are comming to visit could stamp them) and the phone rings probably about 20 times a day and ove 1/2 of those are sales calls and automated messages about how i can improve the intrest rate on my mortgage (i cant believe that anyone would hold on till the end of those messages and then write down the number and then call, thats right it doesnt even connect to a personm you have to call back! but evidently they must work becuase we get zillions of these calls) anywhoozle if they had the phone set up properly the 10 actuall calls a day could get rerouted to the proper person through the phone system. they already fired the real receptionist here (while she was on maternity leave , is that even legal?) and evil boss hussy #1 (who has been much more reasonable since i layed it out for her and its not nearly as unbearable now that she thinks i might abandon her at any moment) came to my desk last week to tell me they probably wont be keeping me till june after all. "ok thats fine. i figured that when i heard addrianne was let go" "oh well my bosses mentioned it once but im not going to bring it up again and hopefully they will just end up forgetting to let you go and you can stay the whole time." "ok, whatever, just let me know when you know something. thanks for the heads up." but now im kinda like. ok maybe i would rather have her ask them even if it gets me fired cause then i will have an official end date to give to the temp agency. or maybe id rather just coast as long as i can even if it means getting my walking papers some friday with no notice (thats their perogitive. its why people hire a temp) *shrug* oh well none of this is neither here nor there. im just rambling.
back to netflix. i have been watching tv shows that i never saw when they were on. here is what is bugging the holy hell out of me.
#1) shows like csi have the 3-6 seasons but not the first two available for watching instantly! whats that all about? they offer those seasons on dvd but not to watch instantly? hurumph
#2) i watched the whole first season of
"dead like me" before i realized that sometimes all the episodes in a single season are not available to watch instantly. so i watched the whole season but the last 2 episodes i have to get on disc. grrrr. in the second season the first, third, fourth, and seventh are only available on dvd! what!? thats random. how can this even be? i can watch episode 2, 5 and 6 but not the others instantly?
#3) i switched over to another show
"roar" and realized that the same thing was going on here. i watched the first episode and attempted to put the second in my que. nope it puts the whole season in your que and doesnt notate which epsiodes are on which discs so you cant even eliminate the discs with the episodes that you already saw! you have to get them all. *disgruntled*
ok so so much for watching tv on netflix i switched over to movies and saw a miniseries and a movie i really liked! i will share them with you now :0):
North and South- is this a book? if it is im gonna have to read it cause this was a BBC mini series and while i like BBC shows (like Dr. Who and Torchwood and Robin Hood) i am always left feeling a little meh about them. i am never emotionally stirred. the graphics are a bit cheesy too but this one was really good (i guess the mini series are usually better then the shows) im not gonna tell you what happens at the end of the series but i really really enjoyed it. it actually made me clap at the end, at my desk. hahaha no wonder these people think im bonkers. if you dont like costume dramas you probably wont be into this. but it has Sir Guy of Gisborne in it. huminahuminahumina. i suddenly understand the attraaction.
The Orphanage this movie was really really good. its a spanish film so its subtitled. its SCARY, granted this is comming from a total chicken but the thing with me is that im ok with scary movies if they have a nice tied up ending. i CAN NOT have an imbiguous ending where evil is still lurking around! the grudge was litterally the scariest movie i have ever seen. i still wake up in the sweats with nightmares about that one. so this probably isnt as terrifying as some might like it but if you like a little scare but dont
wanna pee your pants i would recomend this. let me say this picture says it all! YIKES!!!! creepy mask wearing kid!
