BOOgrass
thats what Yonder Mountian String Band calls their halloween show. get it? cause they are BLUEgrass? This show was in lawrence, kansas at Liberty Hall. it was two day show and so we stayed in lawrence even though its not very far away from kansas city. We stayed at a historic hotel called The Eldridge that is allegedly haunted. i experienced no hauntings while there. phew.
The friday show was ok, if a bit slow paced for my liking (i mean its bluegrass. it wasnt THAT slow paced, but they didnt play any of our faves) It was The Chad 20th YMSB concert! groupie. Saturday night though they TORE IT UP! first four songs in the show were the four on our list we were hoping to hear that weekend (let me explain that yonder doesnt repeat songs from show to show. they have such a large song list that they will play different songs from night to night. so we are always hoping to hear our favorites. sometimes we do sometimes we dont) oh btw Saturday was my 10th YMSB show. WOO!

Now time for a short, low quality, and poorly shot video by yours truly! hahaha. this is my favorite song and it was second or third on the set list saturday night. what you cantpossibly see in this video is the hippies going BERZERK! they were hollerin and jumping around and hippie wigglin like mad folk. i could only shoot for 30 seconds cause i had some hollerin and hippie wigglin of my very own to do. because the sound is so bad i thought id include a clean copy of the song below the video for your enjoyment. its the live version from the halloween show and has some feedback and stuff but if you arent getting your very own hippie wiggle on by the end of this song then you arent human :0).
OH AND I ALMOST FORGOT!!!! while The Chad was waiting to buy a copy of the show (right after the show. cool huh?) i was looking for a pick that jeff austin threw into the crowd at the end of the encore. chad saw him toss it and said nobody was looking for it. so i decided to wait untill the crowd had cleared out. when they had i walked over and started looking around (man was there a lot of trash on the floor.) one of the crew was like "if you find $20 down there its mine. hahaha" i was like "im not looking for money. im looking for the pick jeff threw at the end of the show!" the guy walked to the edge of the stage to see if he could see it on the ground from his higher vantage point and was like "ha! there it is!" it was teetering on the edge of the stage! it didnt make it very far. hahaha so the guy picked it up and handed it to me!!!!! dude! dude! jeff austin PLAYED with that pick. im surprized it wasnt melted. hes FAST! hahahah
