Personality:
Fran is a woman of mysteries and contradictory character traits. On one hand, she is a sky pirate. She is capable of kidnapping, thievery and even murder. However, she’ll also be the first to admit that they still have morals. A pirate is still a person, after all, and she and Balthier nearly died to save Rabanastre when the Sky Fortress Bahamut fell.

She is quiet, only speaking up when she has something to actually say-whether it be a quip, such as when she was teasing Balthier over how they may not make it out of the falling ship after all (she called him more of a supporting role as he had always insisted he happened to be the leading man) or to share her knowledge of events (such as relaying the stories she’d heard of fallen gods).

Fran is also a contradiction in the form of her past: she simultaneously regrets and stands by her decision to leave Golmore Jungle. She tells her younger sister that the life of a Viera who has left the wood is a solitary one, and that her past has been forever cut away. However, her actions speak volumes as to how she would make that same decision again if it came down to it.

She’s slow to anger, as well. She only shows anger in the game when she is driven mad by the Dawn Shard’s and Sun Cryst’s power and the presence of a lot of mist and magic, and annoyance in Eruyt Village when Vaan asks her how old she is. There is slight aggravation when she realizes she must return to Eruyt so that they may pass through the woods, but this quickly is gone and she instead seems to want to just leave so that there is no confrontation.

Above all of these traits, though, is her extreme loyalty to Balthier. She is constantly at his side, and places absolute trust in him. They are partners, for better or for worse, and she goes where he does. Sometimes they don’t even have to speak to understand each other-such as when they decided to steer the Bahamut away from Rabanastre. They simply told Vaan and Penelo to take care of the Strahl and were off.

There is an air of mystery around Fran, as well. She doesn’t often share her past, and even in the game little is learned about her history. It appears to be a sore spot, or perhaps she considers herself without one as she eventually says her past has been cut away.

Extra:
Character Abilities: As a Viera, she has a few natural abilities. Her senses are heightened, to the point she can see farther than humans (making her an excellent marksman), hear better than humans, smell better than humans, etc. However, another ability of Viera is to sense the Mist-the source of magic-as if it were a physical thing. Too much of a shift in the Mist leaves them feeling unwell and even sends them into a frenzy if it’s drastic and concentrated enough.
Possessions:
1x Viera Armor
1x Longbow
Anything else: Not really?

Action/Communication thread/post sample:
[Eyes narrow. The Mists have shifted. Her ears flick just slightly, turning her head. This place… It is not of Ivalice. The gods seem rather content to play with her.]

It would seem that I have been taken. There is much to learn in order to return to the Bahamut.

[She sighs lightly, then begins to walk along the shore. A good place for thought, indeed, though she is done with her thoughts. The tide is coming in, and the sun is setting. It is time to return to her current place of residence, perhaps enjoy some relaxing tea. Either way, being outdoors is doing nothing for her. The woods do not have the same mystic winds, and the seas are barren of spirits. Perhaps even the gods have abandoned this place and taken everything with them.]

Log/Prose sample:
Already in the game!
