Aisha Tyler lands part in CBS pilot
Looks like Aisha Tyler might carry the momentum she gained from playing Lana Kane on FX’s Archer this year into a new TV project.
Deadline Hollywood is reporting that the multi-faceted stand-up comedian landed a starring role in the CBS pilot Open Books. She’ll play the lead’s best friend- a waitress and actress. The show centers around June (played by Laura Benanti) a book editor at a small publishing company in New York City.
If the pilot doesn’t get picked up, comedy fans will still get to hear Tyler voice a new season of the animated Archer, since its been picked up for a second go around.
