These aren't the questions from this week, but who cares?
1. What is your preferred trusted news source? I'm in a limbo now between ABC and NBC. I loved ABC for Peter Jennings and since he has died, I don't know what to do with myself. I've been sticking to NBC recently.
2. What is a news source that you will never trust? CSPAN...no, j/k. I'm very hesitant to trust online sources that aren't major names. I certainly won't ever trust wikipedia for more than background information.
3. What is the news topic during the last calendar year that you feel got the worst coverage? Hmm.. Feb. 05 to Feb. 06. Good question, because I've only become a news junkie in the latter half of the year.
4. What news item do you feel got too much coverage in the last calendar year? Hurricane Katrina. After the intial damage reports, relief efforts, etc. came out, the place became a media frenzy where the goal was to present the audience with the most horrific views. The media could have done a better job.
5. If you had complete control of your favored news source(s) (answer to question 1), what would you do with it that is not already being done? Let's just start with ABC for the sake of argument: Get a true replacement for Peter Jennings, not two or three half-reporter/half-morningshow hosts.
NBC: Bring Tom Brokaw back for more specials. And stop showing Dateline.
