They are no longer, the best at what they do.
After listening to the latest Brand New cd beginning to end the only thing I can say is:
We had to wait three years for THIS?
It starts out pretty well, with the single sounding like a lost Nirvana song, and the second like a Modest Mouse cover. But after that the songs blend in together with attempted screamo, and quiet, melodic songs that suddenly burst out into unexpect and unecessary rage. The only thing I can say is that the title makes perfect sense. Unless this cd somehow grows on me it has been the biggest dissapoint of the year, musicly speaking.
Matchbook sucked.
