Answered. ^_^ But out of curiosity: why do you need fake data, and what class is this for? I don't think I've ever taken a methods class where we used falsified responses.

It's for my intro to research class at Emerson, and because this way we can do whatever we want and still get responses without having to figure out a thing that matches the population of Emerson and without recruiting real world people, which is hard, especially in one week. The prof just wants us to get experience with writing the survey and analyzing the results.

Huh, I see. But then why do you need other people to answer it at all, since you could self-answer it a bunch of times? Unless he also wants you to get experience sending people the survey I guess? Interesting idea for a methods class though!

Also you have to do the project in one week? Dang that's a short turnaround.

No idea. This is what the prof said. I think if we still need people on Tuesday, I'll start doing that (filling it out myself). In theory because the system might not allow one person to fill it out multiple times and might track IP or something to determine that?

It was supposed to be two weeks, but we ran out of time. And that's just the time to get responses; it's been a semester long project. (Although the survey part has only been 3 weeks long at this point, from writing to recruiting.)

You're putting the survey results in excel or spss or something I assume? I guess I was just figuring you could hand-enter extra responses there. But I have no idea, heh.

Oh, two weeks just for the data collection, that makes more sense. I was thinking it was a week for the analysis and everything, which sounded pretty crazy. So do you know what kind of analysis you're doing yet? I saw you had both quantitative and qualitative items...

Cross tabs for the quant; "sampling" for the qual (get a sense of what the qual answers seem to say and report that). It's somewhat unclear, because most people in the class don't have the stats background, so it's whatever the prof can find that isn't spss to do the analysis (prof hates spss, for reasons unknown).
