If someone told me last year that I would be up at 5:30 in the morning to stand in line in the rain to get football tickets, I would have told him/her that he/she was crazy. But yeah. Apparently, I did indeed stand in a massively long line with my 277 football lottery number in the rain to get tickets. :D Row 24 seat 16! Yay for an awesome seat!
I'm also attempting to get tickets to the Third Eye Blind show that's coming on Saturday, but the stupid ticket booth isn't open yet. Grarh.
Chicago was awesome. Sarah and her mom took us all around the downtown area, and I especially liked Millenium Park. The water fountain with the spitting faces was hilarious, and Sarah and I had a mini water fight there. We went into the art museum, and I was completely floored by the amount of artwork they had there. Although I have to admit that I prefer the National Gallery to this one, it was still really neat to see all the paintings and sculptures I had studied in Art History in real life. Chicago pizza is amazing, and next time we go to Chicago, we're so trying the deep dish pizza (aka Thanksgiving break or sooner).
My roomates, Claire and Caitlin, are pretty cool. Claire is so incredibly sarcastic, and I love rooming with her because she's always got something to say about something that's pretty funny. Caitlin's really nice and down-to-earth. I'm probably the nerdiest one in the room (the fact that my bookshelf is full of notes and book while theirs are filled with hair/jewelry stuff kinda gives it away), but that's okay. Our beds are lofted so that they're about 7 feet off the ground. Slightly disturbing, but I haven't fallen yet...it's a really good space saver though.
I think I'm going to major in bio and minor in Latin. I mean, I've done it for so long...why not finish it off? I'm probably going to regret that later...
My classes seem to be interesting. I can't say for sure yet because for the past two days we've been going over rules and class syllabuses and stuff like that. Latin is pretty much the exact same as IB Latin (which is why I still want to somehow steal Ian's brain without him realizing it), and my Latin American lit seminar seems pretty neat. My professor is a published poet and knows what he's doing. I just read "Tosca" and "Wicked Girl" by Allende-"Tosca" was really good, but "Wicked Girl" was just an awkward read the whole way through.
Calc II, on the other hand, is kicking my behind. Badly. The bio professor is supposed to be a really good professor, but a tough professor. The chem professor is just weird. Haha. These three classes are my biggest classes. Latin has like...6-8 people in it, and the seminar has about 20-ish. I can't really say anything about PE because that's just us running around being crazy. I think I'm signing up for American ballroom dancing, ice skating, tennis, and something else. Haven't decided yet.
I'm working as a bio lab research assistant this year with the o-so-lovely fruit flies. Go me! Haha-yay for genetics. Yay for bio! I really wanted to be a chem lab assistant, but don't tell Walck that.
Anyway, that's pretty much it. Hope everyone's having a great time at college! :D See you all in December!
