Stole this
article on an odd kind of presidential misuse from the always-insightful
ebourland's journal.
I never know where I stand on the classical vs. current common usage of words (To say nothing of grammar. Mine is occasionally terrible, being from the "sounds good? Is good." school. Having been abused by that kind of music-reading as a child, I just learned to tab everything.). I'm glad that some people do stand up for words as they were. I also delight in the evolution of language, even when things get "smooshy". Both of these things contribute to the diversity and color of our species' possibly-ultimate ongoing art experiment.
Hopefully "enormity" will keep the tint of it's classical meaning and not slide into a tragically lame existence as a synonym of "fuckinhugeass".
