People sometimes fail to understand that when one goes through an emotional battle, the problem is seldom remedied with the mere transmittal of information, even if that information is Biblical. And to assume that one's burdens can be bought off with mere data only trivializes the matter ( Read more... )

Words are powerful, and the Bible emphasizes the power of words, as it gives our very Lord and Savior the title of "The Word;"

Actually, the term it gives him is logos, which is better translated as something like "idea, message". Jesus is the Idea behind the words found in the Bible. Unfortunately, people, when trying to comfort, pass on information without passing on the actual truth of the idea -- turn to Jesus.
