"Almost only counts in Horseshoes and Hand Grenades."
What if almost, counted?
Where would that put us all?
How would you're life be different if the things you almost did, that almost happened, or almost didn't happen, did?
Think about it. Kind of an interesting though...
I almost died in the womb before I was born, so that would have been it.
Okay, so say I still lived. I almost broke my neck snowboarding in high school. So I would possibly be writing this sitting in a wheel chair, talking about how I almost didn't paralyze myself because my friend almost didn't convince me to go for that jump.
Say I'm not paralyzed. I almost signed up for ROTC, which still dances in this head of mine. I might be writing this wearing fatigues, thinking about how in a year and a half I'll be moving somewhere, possibly being deployed. I'd be in shape and proud of myself.
These are just big things, there have been jobs I almost didn't apply for, or people I almost didn't meet. I almost decided to pursue a career in art. I almost got my letter jacket in wrestling after I almost didn't join the wrestling team. I almost got a 4.0 in a class that I should have gotta a 4 point in. The list goes on. How would it have changed things. Would it at all, or how will it change things in the future.
Lets look at a bigger picture. This is just one example that comes prominently to my mind.
On 9/11, a plane almost made it to the white house. At the same time, a report almost made it to the hands of someone that might have been able to act before hand.
When Clinton was president, he almost assassinated Bin Laden.
How many times in the past, near and far has the world changed by things that almost happen, or almost didn't happen.
What if almost, counted?
What are your thoughts?
