Well well well.
There's been a rumor around for the last few years (ever since the Yellow-Roadway "merger" at least) that
DHL has had their corporate eye on another buyout. I had it confirmed from a pretty reliable source today that the deed has been done to YRC. Oddly, I can't find confirmation anywhere on the Internets. Is it just another rumor? Which fat cats are sweating now? Oh, probably none of them. They cut themselves very sweet deals before they have to disappear. It's the drivers and the people moving them around who get screwed.
Can't say that I care anymore, except for the people who are going to be hurt by this if it HAS happened. Makes sense that it would. DHL's parent company floated the money to Yellow for the merger buyout. Oh, am I supposed to be talking about this? I cannot recall. It's certainly no secret. That's all over the Internets.
And and I don't want to forget that FedEx Ground used to be RPS (Roadway Package System) until they merged in the late '90s leaving a small trail of havoc for some of those whose retirement was in stock options.
It's all one big shell game.
But I feel like I'm preaching to the choir.
