moving along

So, a certain scientific supply house will not send Safranin O, a commonly used dye, to my home address because it's a "chemical" - but another will gladly ship me mounting media containing toluene (Entellan and Permount) as long as I pay extra because it's a "hazardous material."  Brown will bring the nasty shit right to my door. Near as I can figure out ,  the Safranin O could irritate my eyes, while the mounting substances can fuck me up and/or blow me up.  Figures, huh?

I'd really like to have the Safranin by Friday, but I don't think it's going to happen - between the supply place and whatever ground service they ship with and the college mail room.  Plus, the college hasn't actually given me a mail box yet - they put all my stuff in R's box.  I'm sure he's loving that.

This is the aim of this week's lab work, but maybe it would be better to think Next Week. Hope my posting these pics falls under Fair Use. I'll take 'em down if not - but aren't they great? I'll post ours, if we can get the photomicrography down.
