Borders Patrol
Our neighborhood Borders bookstore (at Westheimer and Gessner) will be closing its doors this weekend. We'll be sad to see it go. The next closest locations are the Galleria, Meyerland, and Stafford, which aren't nearly as convenient. I suppose it removes temptation.
On the upside, you can get some great deals this week. Most of the books are on sale for 40% off - the limit most publishers will allow for current titles - while clearance items and other junk are going for 75% off. Not checking it out would be like throwing money away.
