Batman/pastries= OTP
Being a crime fighter demands a lot of energy.
It's a hard job.
Clearly, it's a job for cake.
What I love about about that scan -other than John and Wally being all 'Wonder Woman baked???- is Batman's feet on the meeting's table. Actually, there's little in this scan I don't love. It's from JLA: Hypotetical Woman, from Gail Simone. That is one hell of a crazy book with lots of craaaazy moments like this one. Later, Batman asks Wonder Woman the receipt for those pastries so he can give it to Alfred.
I also love that Clark is carrying coffee for everyone, and that J'onn and Batman are pastry-eating-monster-friends. No wonder Batman carries around Chocos 'for J'onn' in his belt. They are actually the secret Bat-stash of cookies. DON'T JUDGE HIM.
Hahaha, that third panel kills me. PWNED! Alfred telling Bruce and the batgang they don't have self restraint for eating the donuts Dick brought instead of waiting for sandwiches is too awesome. And Bruce's look of 'Darn it... mmm, donuts.' (First panel is Dick, third panel is Bruce, seventh panel is Dick again.. the art doesn't help...) Also: Cassie/Sammich=OTP of Joy!
I'm now sure that the JLA has a protocol for Grumpy Batman, and it is 'Feed him sugar'. Or just 'Feed him'. Food can solve many moody problems, and he does tend to skip meals.
There's more examples of Batman/cake, but these are pretty recent so I can at least say this is not an otp that has been retconned! (unless Superboy Prime punching the time stream retconned Bruce's longstanding love for cake. That would make me terribly sad.)
ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT ALFRED TALKING ABOUT BANE TURNING ON A NEW LEAF, WHAT IS UP WITH BANE HATING BATMAN AGAIN I ASK YOU. I really like Bane! he and Bruce were pals! he lived in the Manor for a while!! He's the friend everyone wishes Bruce wouldn't have! Bane is the friend everyone wishes we wouldn't have. I still love you, Bane.
