Couple of things to link
I just finished Monitor Duty. HOW MUCH OF A PAIN WAS IT, UH? A VERY BIG PAIN, THAT'S WHAT IT WAS. Urg... those were.. way too many links, and my mouse's right button -the one that prompts the 'copy link location' thingie, even!- is failing. So.... that was a pain!

I wish I could braid your words into a beautiful rope of sense and hang some people with them, Dan. Yes. Yes I wish I could.
I understand the desire to explore the family melodrama, but it doesn't adjust very well to the overall superhero narrative. It drives me completely insane, and yes, you're right, it does a terrible disservice to the characters portrayed as the victims as well -having a stern/strict father figure is not the same as having a rapist or pedophile father figure. I question the characters sanity in those stories because they make so little sense to me, and they are pretty much the reason why I can't stand Dick -and to a lesser degree- Jason. And yet, I have pretty much no problem with canon Dick or Jason -aside from the Nightwing run by Devin with the super weepiness and crack, but uh, that was kind of fanfic turned comics.
Well. You're always the voice of reason in my rage-filled moments, lol, so I will stop ranting and growling here :P I wanted to write you a story today for your birthday but my day got sucked by a work meeting ;.; I'm following your footsteps and spent 4 hours today with a client! NO JOY! I'll try to write tomorrow! *hugs* hope you had a good post-birthday day!
