February is over!
Happy belated birthday to Clark, yay! I didn't have fic to post for his birthday, sadly, play time has been hard to find lately... but eve_k, icarus_chained and vigilante_wake have birthdays this week! If I disappear under work, let it be known I'm thinking of all of you, girls!
Well, my stupid ex-boss lady is hounding me to go back to work with her. This is the personal assistant gig I was doing during December and January. Main reason why I don't want to ever have anything to do with her? She never paid me and most likely never will. She's the mother of a close friend, so I won't get into a fight that might end up with him having to pay me from his mother's lack of care with money, but I'm angry and disappointed and I can't believe she has the nerve to ask me to go back to it! What am I, stupid?
Anyway, that was pretty sad, and ruined my Japan-traveling plans, but I'm doing another freelancing things at the moment, so I'm pretty busy anyway. Along with a friend, I'm building seven models of a project to rebuild a town in the deep of the mountains. Turns out there's a gold and silver mine close by, and the mine is starting to dig under the town, so the mine company will pay to move the town. How crazy is that! It's the first professional modeling I do, and there is again the issue of not knowing how much we should charge, but at least we have gotten a down payment and the office is very relaxed. Both bosses used to be my teachers, one who I adored and another who I didn't especially like, but it has been really pleasant. I'm also probably starting some plans and 3D modeling for my office roommate, and I'm still doing the leather crafts book sketches. School is being agreeable for one in it's life, too! I have a big presentation tomorrow about Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities, and that's the last presentation I have in the semester! I kind of like having to be one of the first to present, that way I can just blank out the rest of the time :P
I might have a design final project the same day I have to finish the models and the plans and the 3Ds, though, so the next two weeks will be insane. But that's how it is, dry spells and then crazy overworked ones. In any case, after that, it's spring break, and vigilante_wake will be over for a week! I'm sooo excited about it! I don't really think this is a very exciting place to visit, but I guess we can just eat and walk and geek out. Mwahaha, fun!! There shall be pictures, yessss.
Yesterday for the first time in 8 years I dyed my hair it's original color. So I'm a brunette again. I feel so plain! but I can always just dye it black again later... I have one of the internships interviews next week, so I really needed to dye it and couldn't decide between red and black. Such a plain old ferret, it's so weird.
I also watched some female wrestling yesterday. I really like Mexican wrestling, actually, I don't care if it's low brow entertainment -or, like Dan says, the Male Soap Opera- it's freaking awesome! Those women were totally kicking each others butts with awesome, painful techniques! I love that about wrestling, the style and technique. It looks like a painful choreographed dance. Kick ass. Anyway, it was a Mexican all-girls team versus a Japanese all-girls team, and the Japanese kicked our butt, what!?!? Dan says it's pretty big in Japan! So crazy, I never would have imagined it. I hadn't seen female wrestling in years, so it was a delightful find.
Mood wise, I'm still a roller coaster. But I'm surviving, and doing much better this week and the last one. It might have to do with planning an awesome story with Jen X) It makes me impossibly happy to play in that sandbox! now, if I could just sit down to write my first part... but now, to shower and start my presentation!
