Soooo... Rock of Ages! By Grant Morrison, who you probably know I love with white hot crack passion!
Some scans motivated me to write my apocalyptic cockblock bunny I was mumbling about the other day. Except there's no cockblocking! Just... an end of the world cliche :)(The art in those is not awesome, but the story is

I think this was the part that made me feel like this was really the end of all things more than anything else:
Diana realizes that whatever happens after this fight, even if they survive, she won’t keep her last mate for long. He’ll join Clark in oblivion, and Diana wishes she could hold both of them to her, protect them, keep them whole. She won’t be whole without them.
Bruce is pulling her hair, licking her throat, his movements losing all sense of rhythm or coherent thought. She buries her hands in his white hair, dancing with him at the edge of the abyss. “I know you loved him too. Don’t follow him yet,” she whispers between panted breaths.
He smiles against her skin, moving back to meet her gaze. For a moment, he looks whole, his eyes crystal clear. “Don’t stay behind, Di. Come with me.”
*sniffles* I feel like this could be a prequel to Dan's "Memory" almost ...
And I love the way you constantly drew attention to their armor again and again, and how long it, uh, took them to get out of it, too. :) It really hammered home the point of how guarded they are now, and how hard it is for them to open up to anyone, even when they used to be so close.
And I second what Jen said about your take on the Trinity (and how you worked Lois into it). I love how their connection just seems to transcend everything here; they really do seem like soulmates.
Ahhh, and feeling Clark in the end! Whether that was real or imagined on their part, it was so incredibly moving.
And the last two lines:
Bruce shivers in her arms, and she holds her mirage close to keep him from disappearing.
He holds her back.
Eep! I'm just picturing them as shipwrecked survivors, clinging to each other because there's nothing else left ...
Anyway ... this fic is so much more than smut. It broke my heart, but in a sweet way. :) Thank you for sharing! *hugs*

This being a prequel to Dan's 'Memory' is the biggest praise I could get, I soooo love that story! I'm glad I could capture some of that wistfulness here :)
The armor, uh. I had trouble not fixating on it, lol, Diana's armor is soooo cool, and the world being such a horrible place by now, I thought it would make for an interesting theme so explore.
I'm very glad you enjoyed my Trinity! I wish Clark could have been around more, but.. this is a very sad storyline like that ;.; But the Morrison kids, if they don't give me the lovey-dovey feel, they do have potential for larger than life soul mating!
