I'm a sinner, I'm a saint, I do not feel ashamed!
Indeed, I feel very little shame at the geekyness that is my heart.
vespa331 asked for pictures of my batphone, and I wanted to do the
Living Between Wednesdays Geek Stuff meme, so... there's pictures behind the cut!
Okay, so. First, you gotta take a look at *why* I'm a geek in the first place, which would be all my oldest brothers fault, but mostly the eldest fault. He lends me his comics and he takes me to the movies and we talk about science and mystery and the strange, they both introduced me to role playing, taught me how to play D&Ds, and constantly feed my delusions and addictions. That's because both of them rock very much, I must say. I was looking for a picture of both of them not looking stupid to show you what handsome devils they are, but... I look stupid in those pictures too. And let's avoid how stupid looking I can be for now, eh?
So. This stuff is Jesus's, my oldest brother. His comics, which I constantly steal!
I'm not a Conan fan, so I skip through those. And hrm... haven't read his BPRD yet, or anything of Miller he owns... But yeah. My comic collection is thus much smaller, because I started buying about a year ago, and a lot of stuff I just make him buy and then I steal it. But he doesn't like Batman too much, so Batman comics are my turf.
That's where I keep my comics. I have a bunch of manga tankoubans on the lower shelf, but I lost interest in mostly all those titles. Except for FAKE, which I finished and lovelovelove, and Descendants of Darkness, my pre-DC fandom. I just haven't catch up with those tomes... anyway! Some Batman, some other assorted things, Hellsing and Blade of the Immortal. Me=Loves Blade of the Immortal. Also, my Robin figurine. Hehe! Let's see a close up of Robin.
LOL! I love it! When I went to Paris, I only bought three things: one scarf/belt/wrap thingie, a cheap plastic biker jacket that I love and Robin. There's a whole collection of those figures with Superheroes, I remember craving a Hellboy one like crazy. But you couldn't pick them, you had to buy one box and deal with whatever you got, and there were thingies I didn't know the characters they were based upon, and that's not cool.. but the Robin was on display, so I could buy that one. And I did. So cute!
Also, behind him is the Superman wrapping paper that I use to wrap presents for awesome people (the rest get Christmas paper, I don't care what time of the year it is). Those shelves are protected by a door that has a JL poster in the inside. It's an ugly poster, but it was a present, and I love the JL. So whatever.
That's not Bruce Timm's drawings, that's for sure! For some reason, most of the merchandise you'll find in Mexico is from the 'Superman looks old' period of the JL Animated. I'm not complaining, though. With my brother's comics there's a JL dish set. I got it for him, and this one's mine :)
See? first season of JL drawings. Odd. Also, the girls never show up in the merchandise, which is lame. I don't eat out of my dish set. It would be weird to fish cheerio's from the bowl only to find Batman is staring at you.
Anyway. There's also our DVDs and stuff, of which I don't own much because I'm not much of a movie watcher and because, again, my brothers' collection is really awesome so I don't have to buy :P
So. These are some of mine. Mostly musicals and anime and Batman...
Which I usually watch in the Batlap. And I mean the laptop, not the actual Batlap, for woe, I do not get to sit on the batlap at all. That's unfair.
Batlap! also called Christian when I'm talking lovingly to it, because I love it way too much. *cuddles the laptop* It's my most beloved material possession.
My love for Batlap can only be followed by my love for my Tamagochi (which is not an actual tamagochi, but an mp3 player, but it's adorable tamagochi-like). So.
vespa331, heres my Batphone. It's a regular phone, Motorola, about two years old now. I bought it when Batman Begins premiered, there were Batman Phone packages, and you got a Batman key chain (which I lost not too long ago, it was sad), The Mask of the Phantom movie and the cellphone. The cellphone has a tiny Bat printed in it, and the silly girl who sold it to me was all 'Oh, don't worry, it will surely fall off soon' and my best friend almost killed her for that. I was in shock. Why would I want a Batman phone if I didn't want the phone to have a tiny bat on it, woman?? Pfeh!
Also, last week I *finally* found a cellphone cover thingie that was small enough and had something pretty on it for the mp3 player. It's from The Batman! I wanted a Superman one, though, because what could be sweeter than having a Batman player inside the Superman cover? but I couldn't find one. Oh well. I put a pretty sticker to the player because the color scheme was already awesome.
Hee! Batman symbol! So cute. And that Syndicate Rules belongs to my brother. He just got it. There's a Tommy Wayne nude scene in that book, why did no one tell me?
Here are some more comics. These are the ones I'm waiting to get some free time to read...
My bedside table is awesome. Comics! Action figures! Together! Batman and Superman lean on each other and Ollie berates them. I love my figures :) That there is the Puffy Tiger, too. My brother's Thrall figure likes to ride on it and destroy human armies.
More action figures, from my CD racks!
I like buying second stringers and villains. They make me happier. I got the Catwoman lego as a gift from my brother when I came back from NY last year, and the Anubis is a gift from a highschool friend. I love Anubis. In those Egyptian birth sign tests, he's mine. I have several Anubis statues. My brothers think I should be Hathor, not Anubis, since I get bulls/oxes in all other birth signs mythos. Bah!
My geekiest of possessions, I think, is my bed. The Batman bedcover is not on right now, but the Batman bedsheets are. So pretty! and the black and yellow pillow was a gift from a friend, she sew it herself, and has a The Batman iron on on it... but let me give you a piece of advice. Don't fall asleep on iron ons. They might stick to your face and you end up with a disembodied Batman face on your cheek. Terrible thing to happen.
On the other beside table is my Batman clock. The BatClock, if you will. Watch how you spell that. I got it for Christmas from the gang!
You see that thingie in the back? It's a projector. It projects the Batsignal and the time on the walls. Of course, in broad daylight it's kind of hard to photograph, so here it is, very close to the wall. It's awesome.
So awesome!
What's left... ah! The blankie. Batman blankie rocks. It's the softest, warmest blankie in the world. And it has Batman on it. Mom bought it for me as a welcome back present when I returned from Paris. I am a spoiled brat.
Mom sure knows what I like!
And last, this is my special clothing. I wear it when I'm feeling badass or when I'm feeling down, to cheer me up.
The red Batman one was a gift from my best friend, she got it at the kids department in C&A. The Supergirl one I got in a Walmart-like national store, and I love it. The Batman and Superman ones I LOOOOOVE and I got in PacSun.
Okay. That's all. But since I was complaining about not being able to sit in the real batlap, here's a picture of me sitting in the lap of Black Canary.
How glad am I that whoever took the pic cut my head off? Very glad. I am shameless enough to parade around in lycra as the flatest chested purple Catwoman ever, though. Home-made whip and all, and Black Canary's clothes are mine as well. It wasn't very good cosplaying and the costumes were rather lame, but look at me not caring! I love my Catwoman suit!
In conclusion, this was pointlessly long and most of my stuff are gifts. I'm spoiled and happy!
