Here's the Brex monster in all it's Placebo-filled glory. Happy Birthday,

The way Lex Luthor: Man of Steel was written? Yeah. Begged for this. :D
And then they would play brutally beautiful music together.
I squeaked at this line. I'll have you know.
“You have a weakness for those.”
Hee! I love this. Makes Bruce dating a villain oh so nice; because they're so two sides of the same coin sometimes, and it was great, how that came out. Especially in that last part, yes.

Lol, well, Lex has quite a surprise on who is being played like a fiddle their first time, but they indeed could achieve so much... together, with a common goal, I don't think they can be stopped.
Makes Bruce dating a villain
That's one of my secret kinks! because bruce torments himself so... dating a villian just makes things totally crazy. He can be a cold hearted guy who knows how to keep work and pleasure apart, or he can have an emo attack of the size of Texas. I'm very happy you liked, and I hope you had a good one, despite the lack of celebration-feeling.

The penthouse was filled with Metropolis, just like the rest of his life.
That could be Bruce, saying the same thing about Gotham.
Anyway, kudos again on a great read.

Oo ... I think me like. Still not feeling the Brex (although you almost got me with it in the later parts!) but the story and your writing are good enough that I didn't need to be fangirling the relationship in order to enjoy it. :) Plus, the h/c part with Clark made it all worth it, hehehe ...
And this is good song fic! Very good song fic ... by putting one lyric at the beginning to each section, it worked very well, and the lyrics really fit each section perfectly. I think song fic only really degenerates when there's more song than fic (or when the characters themselves start singing, lol). But the song to fic proportions here were dead on. ^_^
I love the beginning, how Lex totally underestimates Bruce and then is taken aback when he realizes the possibly dangerous miscalculation he's made. Great little bit of identity porn!
And then this:
their bodies rocking lazily, like there was no need to hurry. Lex’s skin was burning, and the slow pace of their encounter was maddeningWhew! That was crazy crazy hot. ( ... )

That's definitely the best compliment I could get. I'm specially into brex, but sometimes... you know, I can't help myself to indulge. And you and your parallels bunny! It tried to eat me alive! And I'm glad the lyric-to-fic proportions worked, I was fidgeting over that, but ach section I put was the inspiration for the scene that followed. Had the song had more riffs, lol, I would have to have written more :P
Even when I don't want them to be together, I can't deny them their hotness, lol.
LOL, well, that's exactly it! They are really hot together. Smart men are hot.
Even Lex can't deny their connectionOf course not, Lex and Bruce both are kind of smitten on Clark, in different ways. Clark will always be the light to Bruce's darkness, even here, and Lex will always have this passionate hate for Clark, which is probably why Lex is so mad at Bruce. If he didn't hate/want Clark so much, he wouldn't have cared about Bruce's dallydances at all. He didn't care when ( ... )

“There’s no kryptonite here, Kal, it has to be something else…” Bruce pleaded. Bruce, not Batman. Batman was Superman’s partner, and Lex could… perhaps not accept, but at least overlook that, but Bruce was Lex’s lover, and therefore his, and no stupid alien was going to lay claim over the heart that couldn’t be owned by any man. Bruce and Batman already had Gotham, and Lex had whatever was left of Bruce, and there was simply no place for the Kryptonian in that equation.
And I loved that whole paragraph (and not just because Bruce is pleading with Kal instead of Batman ;p) but I love how Lex is calculating what parts of Bruce ( ... )

Lol, well, this Bruce might be whatever he might be, but he's still Clark's partner and he cares very deeply. I like that Lex gives up on his 'hold' on Clark here not because of his love/hate relationship with him, but because of Bruce. had this fic gone much further in their developement, Lex and Bruce would start making more and more compromises for each other, almost without noticing. Then maybe, at some point, they could have a common goal.. and *that* would be interesting :)
And I think you might have just plot-bunnied me back, lol
Lol, excellent! It's an integral part of my Bruce-muse, how he's really bethroded to Gotham. He can love and he can cherish relationships, but he has a compromise that can't be broken.
I'm just very enamored with the idea that Batman is the pinnacle of human ambition and ( ... )

I am deliciously intrigued by the idea of the Justice League throwing Bruce out because he was sleeping with the enemy.
Oh, they so would. Clark would be all 'I thought we were friends!' and everyone else would assume their 'I knew you couldn't be trusted' faces, and Bruce would be all 'Pfeh. Call me if you need me.' Or at least my Babel Tower-influenced league would, because.. well, Bruce and Lex! Who knows what they might do! And in a way, they would be right to be wary. But in another, well, bleh. Who he sleeps with is so not the point.
