I've been kind of disconnected lately. I'm not finding it in me to write lately, not a block, but you know.. just not much motivation. But I worry not, for
sasha_anu will motivate my ass if I don't finish the JL:VS episode on time, hah! so yeah, inspiration will have to hit me soon or Sasha will hit me and my motivation harder...
I went out yesterday, and everything was great. JD, one of my best friends, introduced me to his best friend from high school. She's pretty, smart and fun and we hit it off rather great. I had a great time with them last night, we went for dinner and dancing. The rave was okay, but the DJ was sort of tripping and not really putting attention to his beat transitions. Either that or he knows shit of danceable beats. The crowd had to stand still waiting for him to finish doing his crazy mixes that weren't danceable. I'm pretty tired... but it was cool :)
On the political side of nonsense, I don't remember what was the last thing I wrote about. In any case, the crazy guy, also knows as AMLO, started threatening the winner candidate, FC, and told him that for his safety and that of his family, he would better reconsider his posture (his posture would be that he won fair and square). Then AMLO organized civil resistance and closed Mexico City's downtown with a manifestation that has been camping there for almost a week. Mexico City is freaking mess in its best of days, so you might imagine what closing downtown did to business and traffic in the biggest city in the world. Yeah. Then they decided to take airports and our 'wallstreet'. The funny thing about 'wallstreet' is that people don't really have to go in there to work the market since, you know, computers. So it was worthless and people had to leave the place when they figured it wasn't hurting anyone. AMLO is asking to get a vote for vote recount, which is not something that our law includes as a resource for elections. All he can do is ask for is a recount of the votes from the places where during the election his representatives presented an act of noncomformity. If nobody complained during the elections, then you can't complain afterwards. That's the law. The situation is getting crazy. The Tribunal said today that there won't be vote for vote re-count, and that they are only reconsidering the votes from the places with acts of noncomformity (ie, the Tribunal said they would be following lawful procedures), so we're just waiting for hell to break lose not that the crazies know that they won't be getting what they want. AMLO is condoning violence, saying people have the right to be mad in the face of fraud. There is no real proof of fraud (though I guess that depends who you ask) but even if it was, what kind of president that whacko would be, I have no idea. Condoning violence, civil pressure to accomplish whatever he wants even if it's outside the law, insulting and threatening people... I want this to be over soon, and if it's possible, without civil violence. The kind of media and political wars that are on 24/7 on TV because of this ONE guy who puts his interests over those of the whole country are really depressing. I want to have faith in people, honest, but it's rather hard with this madness. Also, my parents and one of my brothers are lawyers. You can't imagine how dull lunch meals are when all they talk about is this. I love lawyers, but man are they boring!
