I sew!

I am so, so behind everything! man, I am sucking so much this week... life is crazy, sometimes! like.. 'well I never thought this would be me!' crazy. I had a fantastic birthday (much thanks to the fantastic LJ people, too! thanks for the birthday stories, I'm still not finished feedbacking them I'm sorry I am slowwww!!! D: D:) with an awesome loot! I have a new watch that I adore (even if I suck a bit at reading the time on it), lots and lots of books (yesss friends who give books are the best friends!), a new Etrigan to hang out with my lego Etrigan and JLU Etrigan (he uses Rex Mason's arm as a club! it's funny! :P) and earrings and The Best Messenger Bag ever. That was actually in a wish list of mine! the gang sewed it themselves and filled it with books. They are the best :) I love it!

Also, I'm sewing a lot to dispel stress. I had a situation last week -a bunch of situations, actually- but the worst was finding a pigeon baby in my yard and trying to rehabilitate it for two days and failing to :( I still feel pretty sad over the baby bird, but I guess the Great Bird in the Sky wanted it to go fly with him. So... I sewed. I started taking sewing lessons last February, and so far I have made a skirt and a dress! ...I'm slow, wow. But I love it! So.. pics! or random things I've been doing!

Well, that's some cardboard frames I made and then covered with some pretty hand made paper I bought. For jewelry! I bought most of it in my last trip to Aguascalientes, though there's older stuff there too :) My mistake was to use the plastic net instead of metal net, 'cause the heavy necklaces are playing a bit rough with it. Lesson learned!

My favorite new jewelry! it's copper and silver and jade, and I bought it in Aguascalientes from a really cool artisan. I think it looks art-deco-ish but steampunked. So.. punk-deco? <3 <3

The Best Messenger Bag In The World! :D :D :D <3 <3 <3 <3!

That's my sewing supplies box! it was my grandmother's traveling bath supplies box. I rescued it from dad and cleaned it up and hydrated the plastic and now it's awesome! :D the small box of cookies is where I keep other loose sewing things.. and there's my practice sheet in the corner, where I learned to use my machine, and then my first skirt, still unfinished. It's a dressy black skirt with a button and a zipper in the back and a pink under.. thingie. Underpiece? ..underback? .....down layer? lol. Well! that!

See? It has small sleets on the sides so you can see the pink when I sit down or when I walk. Heee! I also made a pink hair ribbon to go with it.

That's.. kind of hard to make out but that's the dress I finished this Friday! it has a sport shirt collar and fabric-covered buttons all the way down, reaches down to my knees. No sleeves! it wasn't as hard as the skirt, really, but the next dress I'm making is gonna be helll! but.. it will be purple and dressier! :D I got the prettiest fabric! ...I have also been making pillows but I don't have pictures of those...

That's Batty, my pincushion! I totally screwed up his ears and head. The fabric is very thick and turning it around was kind of impossible and I didn't take a lot of things into account.. but.. well! I filled it with birdseed and I love it :) ..I left it at my class so I hope it's still there next Friday :/ not just because of Batty, but because those are all my pins! I don't want to buy *more* pins! ...I would have to go to the store! and I just went yesterday! mroww...

That's Batty the Second, who skund might recognize as Birdseed-free Batman! :D This one is for her birthday, and I'm in the middle of making another one. It's more like a tiny cushion than a pincushion, I guess? ...it works either way! I also use it to batarang my brother.

My mom says Batty the Second looks like a baby version of the Batman logo. Mommmmm!! you're gonna make my baby Batman cushion cryyyy!

sewing, the world is awesome, gift, pics
