Christmas/Season wishlist exchange

Wow, I can't believe it's already almost christmas again. Time really flies even when you're not having fun.
Anyway I thought I'd do the necessary christmas/season exhange post.

I've been really busy this year, so I haven't really had a lot of time to interact with people and months as a time went between posts and comments. Yet a few of you have ( Read more... )

Cool!
...actually I already have Covenants and its sequel. They're uber shiny. Am interested in seeing the author explore more of the world.

Got my mum to get me Hero as a Xmas pressie today when I ran across it in Angus and Robertson's. Seems very intriguing.

As for Brethren...unfortunately I can't find any Australian stores who are selling...I can ship it with Amazon but it generally costs twice the price of the book lesson learned from last year I really enjoy my books with slash...or even just gen (which means gen without romance, which soooo many people do not seem to understand when you are labelling/talking about stories, het romance is still romance and thus not gen darn stupid stupids *cough* Pet peeve/rant. Het romance in novels has been bugging me round the bend recently (female=utter twit, love=bashed over reader's head with a 2x4, romance=utter pain).

*coughs*
Unlike you, who seems to organise herself rather quickly...I kinda lost track of time due to a number of events I had to help prepare...so it's going to be late. I'm off to the post office tomorrow (which is a week later than I was planning). Hopefully they'll have a box the right size for your pressie. Shoould probably expect it within a month...*sigh*
*Hugs*

Covenants was awesome, but I couldn't make myself read its sequel. It looked like there was romance in it--was there romance? Because I agree with you about romance in general, especially in my fantasy novels. :(

I hope you like Heroes! I did. :D

Brethren...yeah, is ridiculously hard to buy. Pretty much the only way is to order online, which I did, but if shipping is going to be that insane, I wouldn't do it. Um, maybe someone will sell a used copy you can get somewhere?

No worries about the present--you're way too nice. ♥ Is it going to my school or home address?

Well...from what I remember of it (I read it in one long binge sitting a while ago) there was no actual romance. The sequel lacked some of the flair of the first, but I attributed it mainly to the lack of interaction with Suiden and his platoon. A female character turned up, went away, turned up and went away again (won't give any more detail for fear of spoilers if you ever do read it). There was some attraction but no actual dating/intercourse etc...unless I blocked it out as per my usual...but no. It really wasn't that bad.
(I don't really care about the romance unless it takes over the actual plot and/or the the romance is completely and utterly false/unbelievable/sickening and/or I don't like the female character (for a variety of reasons)

Heroes was ever so fun. It was a failry typical young adult book but with a lot of neat twists and turns that derailed it from the stereotype. Despite a lack of description for a number of things in the novel, it still engaged you and your emotions and left the various details to your own imagination. Definitely worth a re-read soon.

Australia needs better online stores I swear...I'd really like it to have an amazon.com.au so I can get cheap 2nd hand books online without the arm and a leg shipping. Will look into the 2nd hand thing. Might be a gay theme book store I can stalk in Sydney somewhere...if I manage to work up the courage to do so.

Umm...I sent the pressie off...a couple of days ago now and the post woman told me it should arrive in 1-2 weeks and I'd put your school address (C Hill...etc)as I thought you'd be back at it by then, but then I had 2nd thoughts. But it has been sent and you should get it when you go back to school.
(I really need a world school/uni time comparison sheet)
Just hope you like it.

Oh, and I got your card. It's so cute and sweet. Thankyou very much. As per usual feel free to ignore my own babbling/rambling.

Re The King's Own: if that's the case, I may try to pick up the book again and make another attempt at reading it. I got sulky over the romantic interests but I'll trust you when you say it doesn't take over the plot. :)

And ooooohhhh ARCCIE. I GOT YOUR PRESENT TODAY. ♥♥ That was incredibly thoughtful and sweet of you--handmade for my inner Slytherin! I'm so touched. It makes me very happy--thank you so, so much. ♥ You are too awesome for me, seriously. ;___;
