journal submission

I am trying to write/ finish off a paper at the moment (before I leave for my new job) and I am having a F*@~#*g tricky time formatting the damn thing. I don't use word because it is rubbish (particularly for scientific publications but also just in general) instead I use LATeX which is great and the journal say they except it only trouble is they give absolutely no hints how to achieve the odd formatting they want (AIP use ReVTeX which is v.nice and does it all for you once you get to know it, but ACS have no equivalent).
All it really needs is for them to post a correctly formatted bit of text on their website for each journal, but for some reason they don't bother.
