Ouch. This is chilling, and kind of sad and lonely, and oh.

There's something creepy and terrible about it, isn't there? I think that's why it took so long to write - not my usual view of their relationship at all.

Oh, definitely. (That's kind of what's so good about them too, though. So many different possible takes.)

Guuhh, violent up-against-the-wall sex, very nice! This is a an interesting and slightly creepy relationship you've got them in.

Thanks! Yeah, I was kind of creeped out by it, in all honesty XD I ship VeidtOwl hardcore, but this isn't generally the way I write them.

There is beautiful dreadfulness here, and lots of it.

i like this - the weird emptiness in it, and the way you presented their little tug-of-war was well done. the ending was perfect, too, and forceful adrian is always <3.

Thank you! There isn't enough of forceful Adrian, really (or of conflicted but still strong Dan).

agreed!

i really like how you wrote this conflicted, strong dan, actually - it seems sometimes he either comes across as too wilting or far too casual, but i like the balance here of his personality.

I think a lot of people don't really even see the strength, unfortunately, because he is neither going on fighting crime despite being made illegal, and despite not having that much of an impact anymore (like Rorschach) or working on an alternate, dramatic plan (like Adrian). Instead he's tried to move on with his life, which takes a more resilient, less showy strength that gets underestimated.

...I'm a Dan Dreiberg fangirl, in case that wasn't patently obvious. XD
