Hurricane update

We made it to Baton Rouge. We're staying with my uncle in a nice apartment that has a second and third floor. It's raining, but it's not too bad. I don't expect it to get too bad in Baton Rouge, so we're going to stay here.

I'm glad that you're safer. I made an altar to Oya (google her if you want), specifically for you. Usually I ask, but this was sort of A) on a whim and 2) emergency planning from me. We prayed for you at dinner tonight, too. Before I got yelled at for what they called starving myself. Fun. Anyway, you're in my thoughts and weird ass prayers.

Oh, I wasn't. All I wanted was a breast of chicken, without the rice and peas. Just being my usual weird self.

*smiles* Thanks. I feel like I have this food drive like the woman in Secretary was directed to have. Four peas, half a breast of chicken, and a huge pile of mashed potatoes.

I looked her up and she seems appropriate to this situation. Hmmmm, it also seems like this goddess was the inspiration for the X-men character Storm.
