So, the three-day family Christmas extravaganza is now over! Overall, I had a good time spending the holidays with family and friends. Thankfully it wasn't done with a sombre tone as it was last year. Last year, my great aunt passed away 3 days before Christmas. Thankfully, I was too busy attending
vestan_san's wedding on Saturday to brood about it. Congrats, man! And your cake rocked! His groom cake was Link's shield from Zelda with the Triforce on it and a plastic "Master Sword" was stuck through the cake.
That was Saturday. Sunday involved a trip to visit my cousin and his family on the North Shore. The good: I actually did a lot better on Singstar than I thought I would. The bad: I forgot to ask if he had any dogs and he had two dogs, so my allergies went nuts. The ugly: Hearing my cousin try to sing...something.
Monday (Christmas Eve), we did the usual family thing at my house and exchanged gifts. We had some good food and some friends came over, too.
fenovit brought his Wii and we played Mario Party 8 until more people showed up. Then we feasted on chicken wings, cocktail weenies, and meatballs before opening presents. We're all pretty strapped for cash, so the haul was minimal compared to years past, but I did get some good stuff:
Comic Books (2 issues of Cable and Deadpool and the Dark Tower: Gunslinger Born miniseries)
3:16 by Max Lucado (a best-selling book about the John 3:16 passage in the Bible)
Two gift cards for Dillards (which is good because I need pants and sunglasses)
A black T-shirt with the words, "Judge Me by my Size do You?" on the front and on the back is a picture of Yoda wearing a Mickey Mouse hat and holding a a Mickey Mouse ice cream stick while standing in front of a sign that says, "You must be THIS tall to ride."
Apples to Apples (not really MY present, but something that my brother bought for us to play with our friends. It's a non-collectible card game designed by
John Kovalic, for those who don't know.)
My favorite has got to be the Yoda shirt, which my sister gave me.
Christmas Day was more family and such, plus some friends came over.
fenovit brought his Wii again and we played DBZ Budokai 3 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
