Jack Lalaine (sp), the guy on those infomercials selling the juicer, his wife's name is Elaine. That means her name is Elaine Lalaine.

The juicer infomercials employ a familiar tool of advertising...the black/white struggle clip. This is where the advertisers show you what you've been doing before their product came along. Maybe you're cutting your fingers try to chop up vegetables for your old juicer or maybe you're burning your hand trying to use that old curler. No matter what, if you're doing it in black and white, its a struggle and you're likely hurting yourself. The next clip shows a more attractive person, in color, using the new revoluntionary product. Whatever the product is, it helps you do the thing you did before safer or "in minutes."

I had a black/white struggle moment tonight. I kind of blurted out some emotions to someone in a way that'll definitely cut me or at least get me burned. I'm not sure how it'll turn out yet, but I'm sure it won't be good. It doesn't seem to matter though, because I feel better. Sometimes doing something bad is better than doing nothing. I'm not sure how to do what I did in color.

On the work front, my writing is wordy, or so I'm told was the problem with my latest labor of love. I need to work on that. I guess I feel the need to condescend to all future readers of the judicial opinions I work on. Apparently people are smarter than I am.

On the social front, it looks like a group of judicial law clerks will be trying their hand at cooking/making sushi next week. God help us all.
