It's been very gradual, but it's still different. It's like growing up - day to day, you don't feel much different, but suddenly you look back at photos from three years ago and realize you look, feel, and act different than you did before. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. The latest LJ changes have been predominately bad, IMO, at least from the perspective of an American user.
I miss blogging. I miss being in a space where I can talk about things and interact with people more directly. With Twitter and Tumblr, things don't get interacted with the same way. I can post, sure, but the only real ways to interact with it involve installing Disqus, or reblogging the post until the conversation is giant, clogs pages, and is almost impossible to read.
I've thought about getting a Wordpress myself, but I don't know what I'd talk about. The upside to LJ was that I could prattle about anything and didn't feel like I had to be smart about it. Getting a Wordpress is decidedly more professional, but I feel like my thoughts would need to be more professional, too.
