Not much to report here, sorry to say. Last week was a nightmare of unending stress and right now I'm just hoping that the stress does not carry over (and given that my phone has just decided to go all wonky, I am not currently optimistic about that

I do sometimes if my iPod battery is low or if I'm only going a short distance, but I've been in the habit of listening to the radio in the mornings because...I don't know. I'm in it for the music anyway, so I should just use my iPod.

Yeah, how hard is googling anymore? (I mean there's a search bar right up there on my browser toolbar)

Yeah, I'm not keen on jailbreaking anything I own. Might make it more customizable, sure, but I'm not comfortable enough with my skills for any of that.

I don't get called often, either, and actually the ringtones themselves would be the easiest to handle (I can get one of the "make your own" apps, and already own the few songs I'd even accept as ringers anyway [I prefer soft, non-obnoxious ringers, so music but no lyrics]). It's more the notifications for texts I'd like to do something with, though if I can find a basic sci-fi esque sound I'd be right okay with that, too. I just don't like having music for text ringers or notifs of any kind. Past that the iPhone would allow me to do most of what I'm using my Droid for, anyway, if not more.

I'm working on that! Been spending a lot of my morning crawling over review websites. I actually don't use my phone for calendar updates at all (though I might use it more if I could tell Siri to remind me to do things and plan things that way instead) but I am liking the iPhone because I could actually back up my data, which I currently cannot do with my Incredible. ...Actually, the ability to sync my phone to my laptop AND use Siri are basically selling me on the iPhone 4S all by themselves, customizations be damned. I can work around them or get used to not having them and if I do hate the iPhone I can swap back to the Droid in a few years.

SO I JUST WENT INTO THE LOCAL APPLE STORE and they reminded me I could make my own for free if I use garageband. Then a friend reminded me that people (being awesome and hilarious nutters that they are) post all sorts of songs and quotes and sayings on youtube and I could just get MP3's from there and convert 'em to the right format.

With that problem solved, I'm totes getting an iPhone. I NEED THAT SYNCING. And those reminders, because I am really bad at remembering to make appointments.

YUS! Your ringtones are all just formatted as...oh, i think the guy I talked to said MA4? Either way it's just a matter of selecting the 40 seconds of whatever song/dialogue clip/whatever you want and converting it via garageband to the right format and saving it. iTunes handles the rest.
